There is none that I know of, however Jesus declared himself to be the Christ, which is the Messiah, in Matthew 26.64, when he answered the Jews who accused him.

Answer:

In John's first chapter, John the Baptist revealed to two of his disciples the Messiah one day as He passed by:

"...And looking upon Jesus as He walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!" (John 1:36)

Everyone knew the times in which they were living... and recognized John's prophetic role as preceeding the Christ... and were waiting for him to point Him out. All of Judaea was looking for the Messiah in those days.

The two disciples of John who had the Messiah revealed to them followed Jesus and ended up spending that day with Him at His house. One of them was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother:

"He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the MESSIAS [the Messiah], which is, being interpreted, THE CHRIST." (John 1:41)

The word "Christ" means "Messiah."

What does christos mean?

Christos means "the Christ". The word Christ is one of the titles given to Jesus of Nazareth who was called "Jesus the Christ" which was shortened to "Jesus Christ". The term Christ is often used synonymously with the word Messiah; however, it is my understanding that the word Christ carries a connotation similar to that of Emanuel (God with us) whereas Messiah refers to the Chosen One of Israel. All of these terms reference the same person - Jesus of Nazareth.
