How many sons did Abraham of the bible have?

I believe he just had two sons, Isaac (by Sarah) and Ishmael (by Hagar). He then takes another woman after Sarah named Keturah, who bore him many sons. From what I've read, they included the Midianites.

Where in the Holy Bible did the Muslims come from?

I think it had to do with one of Abrahams sons... He sinned so his seed would create a nation that would go against God... THus the Muslims are here..Answer:"Muslim" [or "Moslem"] isn't in the Bible. A Muslim is merely an adherent of the relatively recent [5th century] religion of "Islam."The religion of Islam, however [also not in the Bible], was the result of the literary workings of a descendant of the firstborn son of Abraham, "Ishmael"... who was born to Abraham through his wife, [Sarai] Sarah's, Egyptian handmaid, Hagar [Gen.16:1].Ishmael became the father of the Arab people."...he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." (Gen.16;12)Many people besides Arabs have willingly adopted the religion of Islam over the succeeding centuries or had it forced upon them... but all who adhere to the religion are called "Muslims" or "Moslems."So, although, Muslim isn't in the Bible... the original people to profess and promote the religion of Islam... the original "Muslims"... were Ishmael's children -- children of Abraham [who is in the Bible].

How many wives are men allowed to marry according to the Bible?

The bible does not allow divorce, so only one wife is allowed.More information:There are a number of patterns of marriage in both the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. In the Hebrew texts, polygamy is not unusual, and most of the Hebrew patriarchs are recorded as having several wives. Kings of Israel and Judah had vast harems. As a patriarchal society, Hebrew men could dismiss (divorce) their wives easily, and women could divorce their husbands under specific, limited circumstances, such as withholding of intercourse to prevent pregnancy. A notable divorce is Abraham's dismissal of Hagar at Sarah's insistence. In the Christian Scriptures, in most instances men are limited to one wife. However, some allowances are given, specifically in regards to "unbelievers," (2 Corinthians 6: 13-16) and in the case of adultery.

He made it known by sending his angelto his servant John,5:2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthyto break the seals and open the scroll?"3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open thescroll or even look inside it.4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open thescroll or look inside.5 Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of thetribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open thescroll and its seven seals."6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in thecenter of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and theelders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits ofGod sent out into all the earth.7 He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on thethrone.8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-fourelders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holdinggolden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.9 And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to openits seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased menfor God from every tribe and language and people and nation.10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, andthey will reign on the earth."11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousandsupon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled thethrone and the living creatures and the elders.12 In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, toreceive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory andpraise!"13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earthand on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on thethrone and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for everand ever!"14 The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down andworshiped.7:1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of theearth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind fromblowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of theliving God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had beengiven power to harm the land and the sea:3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on theforeheads of the servants of our God."11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the eldersand the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before thethrone and worshiped God,12 saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor andpower and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!"13 Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes--who are they, and where did they come from?"14 I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have comeout of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made themwhite in the blood of the Lamb.15 Therefore, "they are before the throne of God and serve him day andnight in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tentover them.16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sunwill not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; hewill lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away everytear from their eyes."8:2 And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them weregiven seven trumpets.3 Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. Hewas given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on thegolden altar before the throne.4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, wentup before God from the angel's hand.5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, andhurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashesof lightning and an earthquake.6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixedwith blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth wasburned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass wasburned up.8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a hugemountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turnedinto blood,9 a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of theships were destroyed.10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like atorch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs ofwater--11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun wasstruck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third ofthem turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third ofthe night.13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in aloud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of thetrumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!"9:15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour andday and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.10:1 Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robedin a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, andhis legs were like fiery pillars.12:7 And there was war in heaven. Thousandsupon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood beforehim. The court was seated, and the books were opened.8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him,"How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled--the visionconcerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, andthe surrender of the sanctuary and of the host that will be trampledunderfoot?"19 He said: "I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time ofwrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end.9:21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in theearlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the eveningsacrifice.22 He instructed me and said to me, "Daniel, I have now come to give youinsight and understanding.23 As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come totell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the message andunderstand the vision:24 "Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city tofinish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, tobring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and toanoint the most holy.25 "Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restoreand rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there willbe seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streetsand a trench, but in times of trouble.26 After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and willhave nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the cityand the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue untilthe end, and desolations have been decreed.27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle ofthe 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing ofthe temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until theend that is decreed is poured out on him."10:6 His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes likeflaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, andhis voice like the sound of a multitude.10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.11 He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully thewords I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent toyou." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day thatyou set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before yourGod, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. ThenMichael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detainedthere with the king of Persia.14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people inthe future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."15 While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the groundand was speechless.16 Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouthand began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, "I am overcomewith anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I am helpless.17 How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is goneand I can hardly breathe."18 Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength.19 "Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed," he said. "Peace! Be strongnow; be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, "Speak,my lord, since you have given me strength."20 So he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return tofight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greecewill come;ZEC 1:9 I asked, "What are these, my lord?" Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are togive him the name John.14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because ofhis birth,15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wineor other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit evenfrom birth.16 Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God.17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah,to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient tothe wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."18 Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old manand my wife is well along in years."19 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, andI have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day thishappens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true attheir proper time."28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind ofgreeting this might be.30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have foundfavor with God.31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give himthe name Jesus.32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The LordGod will give him the throne of his father David,33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom willnever end."34 "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the powerof the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will becalled the Son of God.36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age,and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.37 For nothing is impossible with God."38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you havesaid." Then the angel left her.2:7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in clothsand placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watchover their flocks at night.9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shonearound them, and they were terrified.10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news ofgreat joy that will be for all the people.11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christthe Lord.12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths andlying in a manger."13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom hisfavor rests."15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds saidto one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that hashappened, which the Lord has told us about."4:10 For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you toguard you carefully;11:2 He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be yourname, your kingdom come.12:8 "I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man willalso acknowledge him before the angels of God.9 But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels ofGod.15:7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing inheaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous personswho do not need to repent.10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of theangels of God over one sinner who repents."16:22 "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him toAbraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.20:35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age andin the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given inmarriage,36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They areGod's children, since they are children of the resurrection.22:43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.JOH 1:51 He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."5:4ACT 1:11 "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking intothe sky? He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars.12:7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angelsfought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angelsfought back.14:10 he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.15:1 I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues--last, because with them God's wrath is completed.18:1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.22:6 The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place."8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me.16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."
