Minecraft 1.2.3 is a game version, not a server.
You update your minecraft or get the older version. If your minecraft version doesn't match the server's version, then you can't join it no matter what you do.
The server is not out yet
It means the server is using an old version, older than the version you are using.
As long as you have a legit, paid version of Minecraft, joining and hosting a server is 100% free.
The channel RoosterTeeth on Youtube uses the Xbox version of Minecraft, therefore them not having a server I.P.

It usually means the server version is older then your game version. Every time Minecraft updates they usually update the server also.
Go into google and type in minecraft version changer and download it. It's for windows and for mac. Its completely legal and gives you ANY version of minecraft server.
In order to do ANYTHING online in minecraft, you need a legal paid version of minecraft, unless you play on a cracked version.
