How does the ostia function in circulation?

Ostia are openings into the heart in an open circulatory system that allow body fluids to return to the heart.

Where do lymph vessels return intercellular fluid to?

Lymph Vessels return intercellular fluid to the veins.

Why does the lymphatic circulatory system have an absence of arteries?

Arteries are used to carry blood away from the heart and toward the tissues. Arterioles are smaller subdivisions of the arteries that carry blood into the capillaries. Capillaries are tiny thin-walled vessels, that allow for exchange between systems. As blood circulates through the capillaries in the tissues, water and dissolved substances are constantly being exchanged between the blood and interstitial fluids. There is always a slight excess of fluid and some proteins left behind in the tissues. This is where the Lymphatic system comes into the picture. The vessels are used as a second drainage pathway. The lymphatic capillaries pick up the excess fluid and protein left behind in the tissues. The capillaries then drain into larger vessels, which eventually return these materials back to the venous system near the heart. Layman's terms: Arteries carry blood and Lymphatic system just carries lymph.

Which organ system transports materials to all parts of the body?

This is known as the circulatory system. Oxygen and nutrients from the heart are pumped through your blood vessels (arteries) which run all throughout your body. Different blood vessels (veins) take carbon dioxide back to the heart to return to the lungs to be exhaled out of the body.

What is the medical term meaning Solids and fluids return to the mouth from the stomach?

Regurgitation or vomiting is the return of solids and fluids from the stomach back to the mouth.

How does the lymph get into the lymph vessels?

Lymph is a fluid. It flows through the lymphatic vessels by one way valves which allows lymph move way through lymphatic system. Subclavian suction, and skeletal muscle pumps help to propel the lymph through the lymphatic vessels.

Which blood vessels that usually return blood to the heart?

veins

Which vessels collect blood from the capillaries and return it to the heart?

Veins

What way are lymphatic vessels unlike veins in the cardiovascular system?

The blood system is obviously continuous (from the heart through the arteries to the capillaries and back through the veins to the heart). This is why its called two way, it goes out then back again. When in the capillary beds much of the blood plasma is lost from the system into the intersticial space (the space between the cells). When this builds up it can create too much pressure for the cells. The job of the lymphatic system is to remove the excess fluid from these spaces. So the vessels of the lymphatic system carry the blood from its own capillary-bed-like regions to the Right Lymphatic Duct and the Thoracic Lymphatic Duct which replace the fluid lost from the blood into the left and right Subclacian Veins. This is why its called one way, it carries fluid only in the return direction. It should be noted that the main purpose of the lymphatic system is in fact in the immune system. But this is not related to the question so I have missed it out.

The lymphatic capillaries are?

The lymphatic capillaries are small, thin-walled vessels that collect excess tissue fluid (lymph) from the interstitial spaces and return it to the bloodstream. This helps maintain fluid balance in the body and plays a crucial role in the immune system by transporting immune cells and proteins.

What are relationship between blood vascular system and lymphatic system?

Lymph functions A lymph function is a defence that removes bacteria and foreign materials preventing infection and helps remove excess fluids. A lymph vessel is something that has valves along its length to prevent backflow of the fluid being carried to the nodes. Lymph nodes Lymphatic nodes can clean lymphatic fluid by filtering toxins. Produce lymphocytes, antibodies and antitoxins to fight infection and ingest pathogens. The following explains how the lymph interacts with the blood in the circulatory system ž Plasma in blood seeps through capillary walls. ž Plasma becomes tissue fluid and produces cells with nutrients and oxygen. ž Excess tissue fluids with waste passes into the lymphatic capillaries. ž Tissue fluids becomes lymph ž Clean lymph fluids pour into the subclavian veins to become part of the blood

What is the function on the circulatory system?

Distribute oxygen to body, clean blood, and return to be oxygenated.
