Taiwan is not called Chinese Taipei, except for participation during the Olympic Games. Otherwise, it's still known as Taiwan. The name Chinese Taipei is being used because China doesn't want Taiwan to participate as a sovereign country, and the name Chinese Taipei satisfy the Chinese authority because it alludes to Taiwan being part of China.

Is Taipei capital of Taiwan?

Chinese Taipei is not a country. Chinese Taipei is the designated name used by the Republic of China (ROC), commonly known as Taiwan, to participate in some international organizations and almost all sporting events, such as the Olympics and Asian Games. The international community commonly employs the term "Chinese Taipei" due to the overwhelming pressure by the People's Republic of China (PRC) who prefer the name as it creates ambiguity about the independence and political status of Taiwan (ROC) . It is seen as an important tool to influence international perception of cross-strait relations.

What do Taiwanese do for fun?

There are night markets (夜市) where you can eat to your hearts desire (there are many stalls of delicious food) and also shop (Night market clothing are amazingly cheap, the only bad thing is that sometimes you can't try on the clothing before you buy it) and you can also play games! (There are a bunch of games both in stalls and arcade/video games). You can also go down to some national parks, Taiwan has gorgeous scenery. Can also go karaoking. Karaoke is amazing. You are in a room with all of your friends and you get to sing your heart out to your favorite songs and it's a giant party, many Taiwanese bring small instruments and play along to the songs and it's just loud, rambunctious fun. Also, there are usually food served and they are really really good. Eating! Taiwanese people love to eat. One can usually find yummy food in street side stalls and of course in different restaurants. Go shopping. Taiwan has amazing shopping malls/stores/ there are also street vendors. There is also 西門町 one of the most famous shopping sections of Taiwan, amazing clothing at a good cost. Go to water parks. Taiwan has a lot of fun water parks and since Taiwan is so hot and humid the water is very much appreciated. And a bunch of other activities that you can also do here like bowling or going to the movies, going to concerts, etc etc.
