Everyone on earth descended from Shem, Ham or Japheth (Noah's sons). Abram was just the tenth generation from Noah, through Shem, so nationality was not as distinct as it might be today(Genesis 10:32). He came from city of Ur of the Chaldeans (Genesis 12:1-3), so might technically be called 'Chaldean', I guess(Genesis 12:1), but he lived as a man without a country for a hundred years(Acts 7:2-4; Genesis 15:7; Nehemiah 9:7), living in tents in Haran (Genesis 12:4-9), through the wilderness(Romans 4:11), and finally the Land of Canaan, becoming the Gt Grandfather of the Nation of Israel through Issac and Jacob. The Arab nations also claim descent through Abraham's son, Ishmael.(1Chronicles 1:28).
