Andrew Jackson was known for sending over 15000 Cherokees on a march to reservations west of the Mississippi River. This march is called the Trail of Tears because the Natives were forced out of their land [and their land was protected by treaties] and on the march, about 1/4 of them died

Andrew Jackson was also known for his nickname "Old Hickory" because people claimed that he was as tough as the wood from a hickory tree.
