Australia had there own colonies before federation they had there own rules and they ustoo live seperate to ech country or state
Australia wouldn't exist. The continent would be named Australia but with a collection of countries such as Victoria, WA, and Tasmania
Life before Federation was quite different many women didn't work and life was much harder. The states weren't called colonies and you had to have a passport if you wanted to pass from one colony to another each state had its own premier who made up the rules of how the state would be run.
Before 1788, Australia was a land completely unspoilt by European settlement. There were no settlements or houses, as the Aboriginal tribes were essentially nomadic. There was neither tilled soil and organised crops, although there is evidence to suggest that the Aborigines did work the land in some format. The only mammals on the Australian continent that were not marsupials were bats, dingoes and cats, the latter being believed to have landed here with Asian traders several hundred years earlier. There were no foxes, to kill the native wildlife, or rabbits, to eat the ground bare. The Aborigines and nature all worked in harmony with each other. The Aborigines would use fire to help round up prey, but bushfires were unknown in the way they are known today. They did not strip an area bare of resources, but left some things behind to be renewed while they went walkabout to another location.
It turned into a magical land called Straya c*nt, it was filled with bogans (the highest of all wizards) and upper class posh people (low powered wizards). The British tried to reclaim the land but the magical bogans jumped to defend their country and the upper class posh gits. After successfully defending their country the bogans decided it was time to sit down and watch the pies in the granny while drinkin' a VB. The bogans haven't had their land touched since with countries fearing the power of the bogan mullet
each colony in Australia had its own laws.
We must have federation because it brings the whole community together and if we did not have federation we would have no laws, murderers would be around no police nothing. This causes mass loss of the human population if there are too many murderers around. This tells us that we must have a federation, or we might not be here too much longer.
As well as that Australia could be a war zone because there were no laws and everyone would try and claim land. For example, there would be no Australia it probably be called New Holland or something else or nothing. As a result, it could have colonies fighting for land and probably a war will break out. In conclusion, the continent might just be bombed and it will be all dirt no oxygen and so no-one can live there.
Yes: Federation of the states in Australia was a good idea for several reasons.Trade: There were steep tariffs imposed on the transport of goods across the borders of the states. Federation removed these tariffs and allowed for free trade between the states.Unions and labour laws: It was hoped that labour laws would be standardised across the states with Federation. The great Shearers' Strike of the 1890s had resulted in the formation of workers' unions, and the newly-formed Australian Labor Party saw that unification would allow this standardisation. Some Australians wanted a "White Australia" policy. They believed Federation would enable the development and maintenance of a "White Australia", by toughening immigration laws. There was lingering resentment over the Chinese who had come during the gold rush, made their fortune (as they were far more industrious than Australians) and then returned to their own country, taking their fortune with them. Some stayed and set up businesses in towns, but they were always looked down upon. It was hoped by some (not all) that a White Australia policy would ensure employment for Australians. Some colonies were opposed to this policy as they used foreign labour, which was often much cheaper than local labour. An example of this is Queensland, which employed Kanakas (people from the Cook Islands). Under the new constitution, not only the Kanakas, but also the much-feared Chinese, who came to Australia during the gold rush, would not be allowed into Australia. Thus Federation would eliminate unwanted foreigners, providing more employment for Australians.Independence from England: Federation was but a small step in the overall independence of Australia, allowing it to move away from the influence of Mother England and become a self-governing nation in its own right. Again, this was a process which took many decades, but Federation certainly enabled that first step.Other important laws were expected to be made uniform, such as taxes and banking. This was particularly important in the light of the recent (1892) depression, which was a time of economic instability. Many saw that Federation, in bringing unity, could only bring more stability to the country.Defence: Each of the states had its own defence force. Each individual state's defence force was not strong enough to protect Australia's vast coastline from attack. There were distinct advantages in uniting the defence under one command, an important consideration as the German and French presence in the Pacific increased.Laws: Laws could be enforced better if accused people could not escape to a neighbouring colony. As a result of the goldrushes, Australia was wealthy enough to govern independently of England.Patriotism was becoming stronger, with the rise of Australian talents like 'Banjo' Paterson advocating the idea of freedom, the bush life and tossing off authority.Sporting teams were representing "Australia", not individual states.Under a federated Australia, the country had a single economy big enough and robust enough to give confidence to those who want to trade in it.

It was believed Federation would see the introduction of uniform railway gauges across the states, but in reality this did not occur for another eighty years or so.Some Australians wanted a "White Australia" policy. They believed Federation would enable the development and maintenance of a "White Australia", by toughening immigration laws. Australia became one nation under a singleflag However each of the states that makes up that nation maintained its own sovereignty. Trade barriers were eliminated and rather then having separate armed forces these were consolidated into 1.
it would have been the same world just without her we would not have a Queen of Egypt.
Yes, Australia fought in World War I. In fact, Australian casualties during the war were very high - the highest per capita of any Allied country, even despite the fact that Australia never introduced conscription during the war. Australians fought in major campaigns, such as the unsuccessful Gallipoli campaign, numerous battles on the Western Front (such as the Battle of the Hindenburg Line) and in the Ottoman Empire (like the Battle of Beersheba). Australia fought as part of the British Empire. At that time, Australia did not have a foreign policy independent of Britain's. As soon as Britain declared war, Australia was obligated to join in. Furthermore, Australians were enthusiastic in their desire to fight, wanting to support Britain and prove Australia's worth as a new nation (Federation had taken place only 13 years earlier).
wHaT?!
We federated in 1901, we are still a federation so no end date yet and doesnt look like its happening for a while :-)
before Australia became a federation it was 6 british colonies
The Federation of Australia was the process by which the six separate British self-governing colonies of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia formed one nation. Australia would not be the same as before that. Australia became an independent nation on 1 January 1901. The British Parliament passed legislation allowing the six Australian colonies to govern in their own right as part of the Commonwealth of Australia. You know the abuse in the colonial territories has been.
It's hard to imagine in contemporary Australia, but prior to Federation each of the Australian colonies was more like its own country with customs houses, railway gauges and even their own military. It was neither natural nor inevitable that Australia would be federated, in fact it wasn't even a very popular idea. Only through the dedication and hard work of a small group of people did the colonies eventually come together to form a nation.

Federation is a way of government form. Federation started like this, Everyone was fighting over everything and people could not take it any more so they started federation a type of government stuff. They started making laws and stopping people from crime and all that stuff. It is also called Democracy for all federation types of people. Also federation has a government, a monarchy democracy local government, state government and Federal government, a dictator and a communist government. In America they have a president instead of a government if that makes clear.
Sir Henry Parkes was labelled the 'Father of Federation'. Also people like Edmund Barton, Alfred Deakin
Federation in Australia was never certain to happen. Some states wanted to have free trade and others wanted protection for their local manufacturers and producers. Federation meant that all the states could trade freely with each other. Also it was felt that the smaller states would not be able to protect themselves. From time to time there were scares like that the Russians would invade Australia if there was a war between Russia and Great Britain. The main centres of manufacture/production were in Melbourne and Sydney as well as most of the people with money to invest in new endeavors. While all the mainland colonies and Tasmania federated and became Australia, the colonies across the Tasman decided they would form their own country and became New Zealand.
Because there are many Canadians that would like to see it so. Instead Canada is a Confederation of many Nations. The difference is that a Confederation has a weak federal government and the members in the Confederation are there by choice. In a Canadian Federation the federal government would have total control, or very much more than it does now, and the members would not be allowed to leave or make any major decisions without Canada agreeing.
Australia is a federation like The USA, and is run along generally the same lines. However Australia is a monarchy run under a constitutional democracy. However we do no longer answer to the Queen of England and appoint our own Governor general.
Australia is a federation of what we call states. each of these is like a country n its own right with its own constitution and sovereignty. so the states of Australia are its country's when a decision is made in the Federal government the states interests are represented by the senators in the senate.
