He ruled the cosmos before Zeus (who is his son) then after the ten year war with the Olympians, he and the rest of his titans went into Tartaros, the stormy pit beneath the earth, below even the realm of Hades; many ages after, Zeus released Kronos and his brothers from this prison, and made the old Titan king of the Elysian Islands, home of the blessed dead.
