Elvis had many obstacles in his life beginning with the knowledge that he was the only baby/son to survive when he was on January 8, 1935. Elvis' twin brother, Jessie (named after Elvis' grandfather) Garon, was born "stillborn" (i.e. dead).
Elvis had many medical conditions as a child including; Asthma, chronic insomnia, sleepwalking, anxiety, Allergies, etc.
Elvis and his family were very poor.
At one point Elvis' lost his Father, Vernon Presley, as he spent time in jail for altering a check (note: Vernon made full restitution to the state and to the injured party).
Elvis was "different" in the way he expressed himself, the diversity of his taste in music/style, and even the clothes he wore.
After he became famous, during the height of his fame, he was drafted into the US Army where he served from 1958-1960.
Elvis' beloved Mother died on August 14, 1958 and Elvis never got over losing his mother and knew that his being away in the Army wore heavily on her heart.
Elvis was one of the first celebrities whose marriage problems, resulting in a divorce decree issued on October 9, 1973, were made public in the newspapers - TV - radio, etc. Elvis loved his daughter, Lisa Marie, and had to adjust to the reality that his time with her would be limited, but of quality, because of the divorce.
As Elvis' heath issues increased (i.e. problems with his eyesight, his digestive system, pain in his joints/bones/knee/back, heart, etc.) so did his dependency of prescribed medications.
In 1977 a book entitled "Elvis, What Happened", which was written in part by two of his oldest friends who had worked with Elvis from his earliest days until 1976, disclosed Elvis' use of prescription medications. In spite of his ill health, and fearing his fans would abandon him, Elvis kept his contractual obligations and allowed the filming of his live concert. Elvis looked very "bad" and the swelling was obvious to anyone and yet he sang his heart out and hit notes that few singers could ever hope to hit. He (literally) gave his fans all that he had.
The obstacles Elvis had were not wholly unique to him but one of the lessons of Elvis' life is to use the talents you are blessed with and the harder the obstacle the sweeter it is when you overcome it - learn from it - and help others to do the same.
Elvis Presley was poor as a child. He lived in a small shotgun house (a shotgun house is a house with only about 2 or 3 rooms, and there are no hallways to separate the rooms). The only clothes he had were hand-me-downs. He was raised as a Christian.
Elvis's father Vernon was sent to jail when he was a child. This forced him and his mother to live with relatives which was troubling since they ended up living in poverty for a while.
He was very poor because he was born during the Great Depresssion
They were very poor but happy. You can find out more by buying "Elvis" By the Presleys.
obesity and drugs for sleeplessness
Lisa Marie was a young child when Elvis died, so she was at that age when she believed her daddy was superman. She loved her father, and what he did for a living.
her childhood was lovely she had a very loving family.
That is true other people not just Vernon carried money for Elvis . They also held his credit cards. He also did not carry keys on his person.
Elvis, from his childhood onward, was a loving caring and sensitive person. Elvis was moved to tears, and actions, whenever he learned of someone in need monetarily. Elvis was also very competitive and hated to lose at anything (i.e. board games, football, etc.). Elvis was also compulsive in his eating habits and his lifestyle (i.e. from eating the same foods for months to practicing karate to racing miniature cars). Elvis was also in introvert who enjoyed his privacy and read daily (i.e. the Bible, spiritual books, etc.). Elvis also had a bad temper and got the nickname "fire eyes" and when he was mad it was apparent to everyone. Elvis was also extremely loyal and he loved children of all backgrounds and ages. Those who knew Elvis best, if anyone can really know someone, all have said that he was "one of a kind" and very unique and multi-talented. Thank you for your question.
Michael Jackson was the King Of Pop. (pop is short for popular) Elvis was the King Of Rock'n'Roll. (not as big and popular as pop, duh) But Michael Jackson will never be forgotten. Elvis, never heard his songs on the radio (ok, maybe once!)Michael Jackson and Madonna rock the world. Britney's OK. THE POP FAMILY!Does Elvis Presely have a family according to the Rock'n'Roll family? As in in the Pop Family there is:Michael Jackson: KingMadonna: QueenBritney Spears: PrincessAnd that's the Pop family. And all I know about the Rock'n'Roll family is:Elvis Presely: KingSo your answer is sorta like Michael Jackson, like!
