Eve didn't have an occupation. She was to be Adam's companion, helper, and support. She showed she could not handle equality with Adam, since she betrayed her husband's paradise by her disobedience to Adam and God. She was only worthy of death. When Adam saw her disobedience, he realized her innate weakness in not being able to be left alone. She had to be watched over and guarded by him, in order to protect her from temptation to doing the bad things that she allowed to enter into her heart. Adam chose to be loyal to his innate weak wife and not leave her to be destroyed apart from the Garden of Eden. God honored Adam's heart, and actions to rescue his wife, and told Eve, Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you." Anything else that this for ALL women of all time, and they end up as betrayers in every way, just as Eve innately was.

Probably, yes. First of all, Adam just means 'man' in Hebrew, and Eve means 'living'. So, one possibility is that the original author scarcely thought of a specific man and woman at all. Some scholars believe that the several stories of Adam and Eve were in some cases about different Adams and Eves and in other cases about men and women in general (remembering the actual meanings of Adam and Eve).
