Governor Arthur Phillip's intentions towards the Aborigines of Australia were peacable, but misguided.

He sought to bridge the gap between the black and white cultures, but his method for doing so was based on the belief that white culture was superior, and that the Aborigines should become "civilised" by contact with white people. Thus, he kidnapped a couple of aboriginal men to use as intermediaries between the two cultures. In doing so, he caused Bennelong of the Eora people to become totally alienated from his own people, while never really gaining acceptance in white society.

What does 'variance in intention' mean in relation to the 'Theory of Planned Behaviour'?

Variance in intention refers to the variability in individuals' willingness or readiness to perform a certain behavior, as proposed by the Theory of Planned Behavior. It suggests that people may have different levels of intention towards a behavior based on their attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. This variance can impact whether or not individuals actually engage in the behavior.

What is the importance of intention to create legal relations?

Supported by consideration is not enough to create a legally binding contract, the parties must also have an intention to create legal relations. Often, the intention to create legal relations is expressly stated by the contracting parties. In other situations, the law will readily imply the intention, because of the nature of the commercial dealings between the parties. The presence of consideration is often indicative of the intention to create legal relations, though there are situations where the presumption of the intention can be rebutted, thus determining that there is no contract and no legal liability. In many domestic agreements, for example those made between husbands and wives and parents and children, there is no intention to create legal relations and no intention that the agreement should be subject to litigation.
