Hermes loved his father Zeus. He was able to best serve his father by using the winged sandals and helmet and Caduceus (staff) given to him by Zeus. He must have loved them a lot, but of the three I think he must have loved his winged sandals the most because they helped him to fly to do his job and to keep him away from danger.
