In 1851, Jacob Fussell in Baltimore established the first large-scale commercial ice cream plant. He had a surplus of cream so he build and ice cream factory in Seven Valleys, Pennsilvania, and shipped it to Baltimore on a train. Buisness boomed, and Fussell became the father of the wholesale ice cream industry. Hope this helped (:

∙ 6y agoHe didn't invent ice cream. The eating of ice cream and deserts goes back thousands of years. The Ancient Romans would get snow from the mountains and put fruit and flavoring on it. George Washington had three ice cream freezers and his accounts shows he spent 200.00 one year on ice cream. It was his favorite desert.
