A little old lady, Rosa Parks, basically started the Civil Rights Movement. She just refused to sit at the back of a city bus. After her simple act of defiance became widely known, African Americans began refusing to obey Whites Only signs, demanded an end to segregated schools and neighbourhoods.

It was not the Catholic Church but Emperor Charles V who presented the final draft of the Diet of Worms on May 25, 1521, declaring Luther an outlaw, banning his literature, and requiring his arrest: "We want him to be apprehended and punished as a notorious heretic."
