world war 2
During World War 2 the total casualty lost by the British were about 455,000.
1. World War Two was actually a continuation of World War One, so the unrest between many countries basically just resurfaced in World War Two. 2. Hitler had broken the Treaty of Versailles by building up the German Army, placing troops in the Rhineland, and taking over many countries until Britain had had enough and declared war on Germany. Germany invaded France & entered the Rhineland. Britain declared war on Germany because Hitler sent his armies to invade Poland. England was an ally of Poland.
Germany and Japan were allies during World War 2. They were not at war with each other.
To get away from the war.
After World War I, as part of the Versailles Treaty, Germany was forced to dimilitarize the Rhineland, an area of land between Germany and France, as a protection for France who had been invaded during WWI. At the start of WWII, the Rhineland was remilitarized on Hitler's orders, breaking the Treaty of Versailles and acting as one of the factors leading to the declaration of war.
