Names like Mary and Sarah have been more or less continually popular since Colonial times. Actually, if it's still in use today, and it's mentioned in The Bible, it was probably pretty common in the Civil War era also... so Becky/Rebecca is also a reasonable name for someone from that period, as are Martha and Elizabeth.
