Definitely more heavily focused on aerial battles i believe, considering all the bombings and air raids, but battles on the ground played just as crucial a role in the war effort. It also depend on the theatre. there were 3 theatre's of war during WW2 The Pacific theatre, the European theatre, and the Africa Theatre.

You need to be more specific, did you mean "air-to-air" (airplane vs airplane) battles, or "air-to-ground" (airplane vs troops/ground emplacements) battles?
