They were devoted to ideas that farmers wanted like bimetalism (a money supply based on silver and gold, fixed prices for their crops, etc.
The 1892 campaign centered mainly on economic issues, especially the concept of a sound currency. Former Democratic President Grover Cleveland was a proponent of the gold standard, while incumbent Republican President Benjamin Harrison supported bimetalism (both gold and silver money are legal tender in unlimited amounts). Cleveland also ran on a platform of lowering tariffs (the Republicans believed in tariffs on imported goods) and opposed the Republicans' 1890 voting rights proposal.

Whether to impose military rule over the South or to allow the South to run its own government peacefully. This also had to do with how to abolish slavery and quash secessionalism in the South.
The three amendments that added voting rights were the 15th, 19th and 26th amendments. The 15th amendment gave black men the right to vote. The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. The 26th amendment gave those over 18 years of age the right to vote.
