∙ 15y agoDick Cheney did a lot of jobs before becoming vice president was a lot. He began his political career as an intern for a congressman (William A. Steiger). He was the White House Chief of Staff. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Wyoming and was re-elected 5 times, eventually landing himself in the position of House Minority Whip. Dick Cheney was selected to be the Secretary of Defense and stayed with the job for the majority of George H.W. Bush's presidency. Dick Cheney also oversaw the 1991 Operation Desert Storm. He was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Halliburton Company from 1995 to 2000. Dick Cheney was elected to run with George W. Bush in 2000 and started his current job as vice president of the United States in 2001. Overall, Dick Cheney had many politcal jobs/positions before he became vice president. I hope I helped!
