Discipline in colonial times varied depending on the specific colony and circumstances. However, in general, discipline was often strict and authoritarian. Punishments for crimes and offenses were typically harsh, including public humiliation, physical punishments such as flogging, or even death. Military discipline was particularly severe, with soldiers facing strict rules and harsh penalties for disobedience.
