On May 18, 1980, the eruption of Mt. saint Helen in south west Washington state, disrupted the lives of thousands and changed more than 200 sq. miles of rich forest into a grey, lifeless landscape. More than 26 yrs. later the land around the mountain heals it self slowly.

∙ 14y agoWow, this is a tough one - 57 people perished, a cubic mile of the mountain blew away or slide down into the valley, eventually 5 visitor centers and a $200 million highway were built to see it. Lets just say it was crazy!
