The next war after WWII was the Cold War, which lasted from around 1947 to 1991.
My guess was the scare of nuclear bombs being dropped from planes and crashing into buildings and such. In my opinion of course.
Yes there was and it was because of the German Zepplin's flying around in the sky and the U Boat scare in the port cities..
