Family life in the 13 colonies was very hard for woman and men the men had hard labor had to pay taxes and things like that and the woman had to stay home and cook and clean because they weren't alowwed to have jobs or vote!
the role of the mother was to take care of the children, cook for there husbands and for the children. And if a woman husband died(she might sew, teach children, or even nurse for a living.Even children had jobs by time they were 5 years old.But the children also had time to play with their toys and games.
Colonial families were often large, with many children. Everyone helped out with the family business or farm, and worked together to provide for the family. The women usually took care of the household chores, like cooking, cleaning, and sewing, while the men did the manual labor and hunted for food.
The families back in colonial times were poor. Most of the kids went to public schools. The families were very oriented. Fortunatly water was a very plentyful drink back then.
