The Australians were fighting on New Guinea and Port Moresby. The USN was engaging the IJN at Coral Sea.
I am not an expert on the Battle of Coral Sea so I have chosen to give you links (see below) to sites that have great explanations of the Battle. I do know it was one heavy duty battle and I am glad I was not there! My Step-dad was there and he did not like to talk about it.

Coral & Balmoral were simply hit during the '68 Tet offensive like everybody else was hit. This counts the aftershocks.
