All I know is that Anne Frank went into hiding for two years. They were cut off from the outside world completely, except for an illegal radio. Anne couldn't contact her friend, Hannah. When the soldiers caught them, because they were disobeying the Nazis, they were in much worse condition. They were put into S barracks, which were much worse. Anne had to loose her lucious hair that she was so proud of, and she had no food. Whereas her friend Hannah had been transported in a Razia (a gathering of Jews) and she had gotten to keep her clothes, keep her hair, and eat small amounts of food.

Not only did they have to worry every single day that they'd get caught by the Germans, but they also had to really trust the people they were hiding with, so they won't rat them out. It was very difficult and stressful for them, and sometimes they had to change their names so they will seem like their 100% German.

Those in hiding faced many problems in addition to being found. Often those hiding the Jews would only do it in exchange for payment. Food and supplies were often scarce and supplies that were gaathered for those who were hidden were redeistributed instead. Female Jews in hiding had the worst time, many suvivors who had been hiden told of how they were sexually abused by those who were suposedly protecting them.
