Depends on where you were. For much of 1945, most of the world was at war. This affected not only the military, but civilians as well. You might live in a city that would be subject to air attack, work in a plant that made weapons, airplanes, jeeps. You might live in a city that had already have been bombed. Due to the war there were shortages of most things- food, fuel, clothing. By the way- no personal computers, TV was extremely rare, no Video Games. Check with your library and see if you can find copies of Life magazine from 1945. It included photos and stories from different places.
