the main objestion was that in the closed beakers there was no air and no oxygen .so the abiogenesis supporters said that reproduction cannot take place without oxygen so in short the answer is the main objection was the non availibity of oxygen

Redi refuted "spontaneous generation". At the time it was believed that rotting meat spontaneously produced flies! All he did was take 2 identical jars of rotting meat but covered one with cotton cloth so the air could enter but no flies. The second jar was UNCOVERED and flies did get in. Only this jar developed maggots which became flies.

The production of flies from rotting meat could only happen if adults laid eggs.
