Traditionally James, son of Alphaeus, (also called James the Less) died around 62 AD.
Tradition goes that James was first pushed off of the highest point of a temple by priests. But he only broke his legs. But after he broke his legs he got on his knees and prayed for the people persecuting him.The priests were fixing to stone him but one of the priests saw him praying for them and begged he other priests to stop the stoning. The priests were still angry with him and threw him in a fire. The fire was not hurting him, so the priests through spears in at him which finally killed him.

∙ 9y agoSaint James the Less was one of Our Lord's chosen apostles and he died the death of a martyr. Becoming a martyr meant certain sainthood in the minds of the early Christians.
