The signing of the Magna Carta was revolutionary because it was the first time a king had done anything to limit his own power, and the first time that a king had agreed to specific rights for his people. The document was signed by King John of England in 1215 at the request of the English barony.

The Domesday book was ordered by William ! to provide an inventory of his new conquered possession, in the late 11th Century. Magna Carta was an agreement between King John, and the Barons who wer in revolt against his tyrannies, and was signed in 1215: so Magna Carta is not mentioned in the Domesday Book, and nor would there have been a reason to mention it even if they were contemporary documents.
It established the rule of law -- thus the monarch was not above the law but had to obey it. The Magna Carta was the first English document of liberties which included the right to a trial by jury. The Magna Carta influenced law, representation and developed Parliament. It influenced the settlers who came to the New World, as well as the United States Constitution.
The Magna Carta or "Great Charter" limited royal power over the nobility. King John was forced to sign the Magna Carta by rebellious barons who resented his attempts to tax them. The Magna Carta guaranteed the traditional rights of the English nobility. For example, King John agreed to consult a Great Council composed of high nobles and Church officials before placing any new taxes.
