It was an incident in which a blood-libel (an accusation of "ritual killing") was brought against members of the Jewish community of Damascus, Syria. Also, the Muslim populace of Damascus pillaged the synagogue in the Jobar neighborhood, and destroyed the Torah-scrolls.
