Christianity developed from Judaism. It is built on the same holy book, the Torah, with additions making the Torah the Old Testament and additions the New Testament. After Jesus was born, many declared him to be God's Son and this evolved into Christianity.

Christianity is not a development of Judaism. Jesus said this:

Mark 2:22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins."

The New Testament says this:

Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Hebrews 10:20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

Hebrews 10:21 and having a High Priest over the house of God,

Christianity is based on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As the "lamb of God" he paid the penalty for sin and made it possible for people to have a new relationship with God.
