Truthfully, Hitler wanted to occupy Poland. There was no specific incidents that caused the German Invasion. It was just part of Hitler's plan to take over all of Europe.___There was a specific incident called the Gleiwitz incident. Hitler wanted a pretext for the invasion. He sent the Gestapo disguised as Polish soldiers to attack and destroy German property along the German Polish border.This was used as an excuse to invade, giving the illusion Germany was just defending itself.
