my family are rumoured to have been tutors and servants of the court. we grew up being told several 'little' remarks.

my grand mother 'wore' my grandfather's cross, hidden, for him, because of his heritage, and he wore hers, due to his American citizenship, and as an affluent businessman.

some friends of the family"from the old country"once were horrified upon visiting. they mistook my German stepmother for my 'nanny', and nearly fainted when i mistook their Russian for German, and spoke the unholy tongue. after i began to cry, they appoligised, as my birth mother(from France), had passed away when i was 4.

sometimes i would get the feeling my father's family did several odd things to 'copy?' the lifestyle, traditions of the royal court in Russia. since they were doing well in America.

we all had to have artistic abilities. i learned to read at the age of 3, my father taught me himself. he took much pride in this.

all my cousins and i had chemistry labs by age 8.taught 'our intelligence', a key to our future prosperity, we were all tested in grade school, found to have exceedingly high i.q. scores.(135-160's)

the older women wore a lot of black mink, gold, and enormous diamonds. i wore a lot of silver and blue as a younger girl. had to learn to curtsy, both from french, and Russian grandmothers, at age four or five, several odd lessons in behavior of young ladyship.
