Many Russians embraced the idea of communism due to the fact that most were peasants. Some of Communism's main beliefs are that one, there is only one class, middle class, two the wealth is to be redistributed, and three that the government owned all banks, transportation, and farms. So to answer the question, they embraced it due to the Second main belief of the wealth being redistributed, meaning everybody would get the same share of everything no matter their contribution to society.
They didn't & they don't. They appeal to the left wing of political thought. I think it's beyond doubt that Communism was forced upon the Russians whether they liked it or not. Communism is, to me, no different to Democracy: Power to the people. Sadly it's just not going to happen. It's an unachievable, idealistic state of political power.
It is mostly because the communist party was the only one opposed the participation in the WW1. That war have totally exhausted lower classes of the Russian society.
The goal of aid provided through the Marshall Plan was to decrease the appeal of communism in Western Europe.

Communism was developed out of the need to replace the ruling class of the Cezars of Russia. It was to give those in Russia and Utopian ideal.
Because it brought on Communism in Russia. Also China was influenced by Russia to be communist as well.
Communism didn't last in Russia because Stalin had a warped idea of communism. It failed because it never was true communism, but was always corrupted. I believe it was not communism in the USSR, but more of a deadly mix of Socialism and Totalitarianism.
the fear of communism--leaders in Germany and Italy had seem what Communism had done to Russia, with the Red Terror and Stalin and everything. They needed a way for the government to control capitalism more directly because of their failing economies caused by post-war stress. The two options were Communism and Fascism, and Italy and Germany chose Fascism out of fear of turning into another Russia.
The Bolshevik Party under Vladimir Lenin brought "communism" to Russia, although it was not "communism", it was actually socialism. There has never been a country that has been "communist" in the sense that Karl Marx described communism.
because Russia's a big Continent that does what they want.
