18-20, but lower with parents permission. Many guys doctored their birth certificates to get in the service. Basic requirements for entry, vision, hearing, heart, disease history. It was relatively quick process. They where Americans greatest generation, they served without hesitation, suffered great hardship and did it without much complaint
