the barrett .50bgm rifle is not a sniper rifle as most people call it. it is technically an anti-material rifle which is the modern name for an anti-tank rifle. it is used against lightly armored targets such as anti-aircraft guns truck cars apcs etc. it can penetrate these targets making them inoperable or killing the targets inside. but it is used as an anti-personnel rifle bc who can argue with the killing power of a .50cal at 1000yds
