There were many problems in ww1 such as Battle of the Somme, Gallipoli, sinking of the lusitania, but these are not issues. The biggest issue was probaly the terrible living conditions that soldiers had to put up with. Disease had free reign, rats gnawed all food, the stench of unwashed bodies could knock you dead[so to speak] and fleas made life even harder. Plus trench foot. Seach trench foot and you will be disgusted. It is amazing that soldiers managed to fight at all.
