What was the cause of the Detroit Newspaper Strike?

It was only a strike in the news which of course the News Media had control of. After the papers got their monopoly JOA they were making millions. The first year after the JOA they had 10 million in profits. The newspaper workers had been working without a contract for many years, the paper promising to deal after the JOA. What happened next changed lives for many. The paper locked the workers out and brought in scab workers. It is the first time in history that the corporation has started a strike. The power of the press had many people against the workers. The newspaper even set its own trucks on fire and Channel 4 broadcast that the workers had done it. They were charged with crimes in court but with a Republican Govenor they overcame it all. The workers won their court case in every court with a order for the paper to give them back their jobs and the paper appealed it all the way to the Supreme Court. It took 5 years. The conservative Supreme Court overturned all the other court decisions and found in favor of the paper. So the answer is nothing but corporate greed caused the newspaper strike
