In 43 BC, they took control of Rome and ruled for 10 years as the second Triumvirate. then later, Octavian forced Lepidus to retire. he and Antony became rivals. soon, Antony met Queen Cleopatra of Egypt. Antony went with Cleopatra to Egypt. Later Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide. Octavian restored some aspect of the republic. he became the unchallenged ruler of Rome. Eventually he accepted the title of Augustus.

None whatsoever. Octavian never held the title of emperor. In fact no Roman ever held that title; it was something given to the Roman leaders by later historians. As for Octavian, he called himself "princeps" which translates into "first citizen". He secured that position by retaining tribunican power.
