Fantastically enough, Alessandro Volta, had a little something to do with today's volt battery. From 1745 to 1827, Volta was a man of science, a mind melded by physics and was fascinated with and greatly impacted electricity. In 1800, he created the voltaic pile, an early prototype of the modern-day battery. He arranged several disks of two different metals in a pattern where they would opposite of each other. He then separated each disk with pads moistened by an electrolyte. This opposition of metals (poles) soon created an electric charge. You can see this is still represented on the labels on all batteries with a + or a - at opposite ends. After all, the old adage of "Opposites attract..." had to come from somewhere.

Alessandro Volta was an Italian physicist (1745 - 1827) who invented the first electric battery (also known as the voltaic pile battery) in 1799. His work is still remembered today through the use of his family name Volta, which is used in the electrical term Volt.

Allesandros Family Was Poor!
Alessandro Volta died on March 5, 1827 at the age of 82.

I dont know who made the first battery but i know who made the chemical cell for it. It was Allesandro Volta.
The word "volt" comes from the man who created the standard of measuring this unit of electrical pressure, Allesandro Volta.
pwet
he lived in a hole with a 7 to 8 change of getting out of the hole so that's why he started to invent things because he had nothing better to do
electron volt battery
Volt is the SI word chosen for the unit of electromotive force. It is named for the Italian physicist Allesandro Volta who invented the voltaic pile, possibly the first chemical battery.
Allesandro Volta made an alternating stack of silver coins and leather discs soaked in a strong salt solution to make a battery of cells. It is known as Volta's pile. You can do the same today using coins and kitchen paper and you can generate enough electrical current to make a Light emitting diode (LED)glow.
Alessandro Volta contributed one of the first methods in the creation of electricity that was practical for use. His name is where the term "volt" comes from in electricity.
