The Aztecs were a very religious civilization. The Aztecs were also very violent and believed that for the sun to rise everyday the sun god needed a human sacrifice. They sacrificed prisoners from other nearby tribes which made them many enemies. This would later become a contributing factor to the fall of the great Aztec empire after the Spanish conquistadors arrived.
