The first flight of the Wright Flyer was only 120 feet. However, the Wright brothers made several other flights that day including one that covered over 850 feet.
It was allegedly the Wright brothers first flight in December 13, 1903 at Kittyhawk, although other people claim lay claim to having made the first flight, notably Gustav Whitehead in 1901.
