there was an industrial revolution in England in the late 1800's because there were two big "inventions" at the same time these were the new way of making iron and the steam engine. you could already get iron but you needed charcoal cause coal gave off chemicals that wrecked the iron so coke was made by baking iron so that there would be no chemicals also there was the steam engine which could be used on hammers and big machines it could power many things.

the reason there was an industrial revolution is that there was lots of iron but on its own you cant do mush but because of the steam engine there were new things that you can do with it and you could make them fast also the steam engine needed iron as power for the hammers and other machines and its also what they were made of so if these two inventions came at separate times there would have been no industrial revolution!

it was the invention of the steam engine that started it all. britain controlled many parts of the world and wanted free trade to happen. they wanted more control and power of other countries. they had modern work attitudes, education, a product (coal), transportation for the product, a large market, modern government and money.
