There is no definitive information on Beverly Cleary's favorite book. As an author, she is known for her own works such as the Ramona series and Henry Huggins series.
Beverly Cleary has written extensively, but her most famous books are the "Ramona" series: Ramona the Pest, Ramona the Brave, Ramona Quimby Age 8, Ramona and Her Father, etc. Her first book was "Henry Huggins", and other famous titles include Ralph S. Mouse, Runaway Ralph, Mouse on a Motorcycle, Dear Mr. Henshaw, Muggy Maggie, and Strider.
She started out in the Henry novels as the annoying little sister. She eventually became the center of her own series. Ramona the Pest was created in 1968.
Beverly's first published book was Henry Huggins, about an eight-year old boy who deals with sissies (girls), his friend Beezus' annoying little sister, Ramona, who is four, and the show-off+know-it-all in his neighboorhood, Scooter, who has a bike, and is eleven (at the end of the series, he is about fifteen). Cleary did a few more years with the Huggins, until, in the early sixties, she decided to cut him off entirely. She was working on the first in the Ramona series, Ramona the Pest, after all. Her last published book was Ramona's World, which deals with a nine-year old Ramona, who's life gets better at the moment. She gets a best friend, a crush on a boy, becomes a role-model for her baby sister, and finally becomes a babysitter/pet-sitter, something she's wanted ever since her older sister, Beezus, got the job. After that, Beverly Cleary... (p.s., that book was 1999), never wrote another book. She retired. So there you have it.
