it was called silt
Egypt has some major natural features that made it able to survive. This is because of the desert which provided protection from invaders along with the Nile river that gave them fertile soil.
Because lower Egypt is where the Nile Delta region is located, and when the river would flood this area would it would cause the soil to become extremely fertile.
because they had floods a lot and it regrowed the soil
Civilization developed in Mesopotamia simultaneously with Egypt are often called the 'Fertile Crescent'. In the related links box below, I posted a site on Mesopotamia.

The most fertile soil is located in the Nile river. when the Nile river flooded it left black soil behind.
Biggest reason Egypt outlasted Mesopotamia was the Nile. The Nile's flooding kept Egypt's soil fertile. (and the fertile soil made Egypt a wealthy nation and good in international trade) And the Nile was easy to navigate.
The Egyptian fertile land was called Kemet (=Black Land) because of the fertile soil in the Nile river lands. Their desert land was called Red Landl
From the middle of July through October the waters of the Nile rise, bringing with them the precious silt that makes the soil Fertile
