As nearly as I can tell, the first (graphical) computer game was written in 1952 by A.S. Douglas. It was human against computer in . . . . Tic Tac Toe. Douglas wrote it as part of his PhD dissertation on Human/Computer interaction.

∙ 6y agoThere were no computer games in 1962 because there were no computers that were sold to consumers. It won’t be until the late 1970’s that the first desktops were sold by Apple. It was the 2E and there was a game on it called “Lemmonade” where the player set up a stand and sold lemonade according to market conditions. By 1989 the home computer was sold and the internet was available, but computer games were still very primitive and basic.
