Best Answer
  1. Transmitter: a high voltage spark transmitter that emitted wideband radio noise. It was only useful for Morse Code telegraph messages.
  2. Receiver: detected pulses of radio signal using a device called a coherer, a glass tube full of iron filings that stuck together when a pulse arrived, the resulting drop in resistance tripped a relay which activated the sounder and a decoherer, a solenoid activated rubber mallet that tapped the cohererknocking the iron filings loose making it ready for the next radio pulse..
