Early residents first thought the name referred to the big bang creation of the universe theory. It is in fact named after one of the streets that ran close to the original Linden Lab Office in San Francisco. The name of the actual street is De Boom street however due to a spelling error by Linden Lab it was entered as Da as oppose to De, the name was never corrected and remains to this day.
