Ankylosaurus primarily interacted with its environment by foraging on low growing plants. In addition, they would have fertilized the soil with their feces. They would have drank water. Unlike most herbivorous animals, though, they didn't have any predators because they were so heavily armored.

Ankylosaurus lived in Montana, Wyoming, and Alberta between 66.5 and 65.5 million years ago. Back then, that area was a coastal floodplain with a humid, subtropical climate that had distinct wet and dry seasons. Native plants included conifers, cycads, ferns, ginkgoes, horsetails, as well as early angiosperms (flowering plants) such as palms and primitive grasses.
